The nearest water source is miles away
Access to clean water? It’s something we take for granted: we turn on the tap and have as much drinkable water as we like. 771 million people worldwide have no access to a basic supply of drinking water. In the rural regions of many African countries, for example, women and children in particular have to walk several kilometres every day to get any water at all. What is more, the water is not generally clean: it comes from sources that are contaminated, which is an extreme health risk.
Water: a vital necessity
As a result, they lack a basic necessity and the foundations for a healthy life with education and self-determination – water is the basis of life, education the basis for a livelihood. The Neven Subotic Foundation has set itself the goal of giving everyone in the world access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene ( WASH for short), thereby enabling everybody to live a dignified, self-determined life. By building wells and sanitary facilities for schools and communities, the Foundation works on a day-by-day basis to achieve this goal.
We promise your donation will reach its destination
The Foundation provides an assurance all donations entrusted to it go 100% directly into local projects All administrative costs are borne personally by the Foundation’s originator, Neven Subotic. The Foundation fulfils this promise with the greatest possible transparency by providing GPS data, detailed figures and personal reports as well as videos and photos of the projects implemented. Representatives of the Foundation are also regularly on site in person.
